An Elkhart, Indiana man has been arraigned on charges including open murder for a crash in Cass County last weekend.
The Cass County Prosecutor’s office says 28-year-old Cody Ray-Anthony Kleitz was driving a stolen vehicle and being chased by police when he crashed on M-205 and Redfield Street in Mason Township in the early morning hours of Sunday. His passenger, 49-year-old Adrian Smith of Elkhart, was killed.
Kleitz was found by police near the scene of the crash and arrested. His bond was set at $300,000 and he’ll be back in court on November 2.
