There’s two weeks until Christmas, but Vincenzo Vultaggio with Vultaggio Royal Tree Farms says they’re still busy at his business. They expect to be busy for the next two weekends.

Vultaggio says make sure you give the tree a fresh cut before getting it into the stand.

“Try to keep the tree away from a heat source,” Vultaggio said. “So, heat vents, heat registers. If it has to go there, try to shut off the heat to that heat vent, whether it’s from the basement or closing the vent and placing a towel over it. That heat will dry out the tree quicker than anything. The biggest things are get a fresh cut, water it, and keep away the heat.”

Vultaggio also suggests getting the tree into the water within two hours of buying it. Also, always monitor the water level.
