The Van Buren County Road Commission says one of its projects from this year has picked up an award.

The commission says Michigan Paving and Materials, the Southwest Division, has received an Award of Excellence from the Asphalt Paving Association of Michigan for its paving work on County Road 352 from CR 687 to 60th Street in Keeler Township.

The road commission project included crushing and shaping the existing road, widening, drainage work, asphalt paving, aggregate shoulders, restoration, and pavement markings and signs.

Paving projects are submitted statewide for consideration for awards in nine categories, and judges from the Asphalt Pavement Association of Michigan, Michigan Department of Transportation, and Federal Highway Administration select winners.

Michigan Paving and Materials and the Van Buren County Road Commission were recognized at an awards banquet held December 7 in Lansing.
