Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on Sunday morning, February 11, at approximately 7:40 am, his deputies responded to a fatal crash on Dutch settlement near Nubour Street in Wayne township.
The sheriff’s office says Cassopolis resident, 72-year-old Doren Preston was traveling eastbound on Dutch settlement when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Preston was pronounced dead at the scene.
Law enforcement say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. The crash is still under investigation.
