Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that on Monday at approximately 12:10 pm, deputies were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the 26000 block of County Road 388.

The victim reported that the suspect car passed by his residence when at least one individual fired several rounds from a firearm toward his home.

The victim reported that he observed the vehicle and the driver, whom he was familiar with. No one in the home was injured.

The sheriff’s office says based on a description of the vehicle and a suspect, deputies were able to locate the vehicle in the village of Paw Paw.

Deputies identified two suspects in the vehicle and conducted interviews of both. The two males were ages 24 and 18 years of age from Paw Paw. During the course of the investigation, officials say enough evidence was gathered to criminally charge both individuals with their involvement in this incident.

Both suspects were arrested and lodged at the Van Buren County Jail pending arraignment. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office.
