The Michigan Department of Transportation will resume work to replace the I-196 culvert over Rogers Creek near Covert in Van Buren County on Monday.

MDOT says the $9.2 million investment includes scour countermeasures and road rebuilding.

I-196 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between mile markers eight and ten for the duration of the project, which will continue through October.

MDOT says the new culvert will improve natural creek flow and has an expected lifespan of 50 to years.
