Market Van Buren hosted its fourth Annual Municipal Summit this week.

The event was held at Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac with more than 50 leaders from Cass and Van Buren Counties gathered to learn strategies related to housing, project incentives, utility extensions, and best practices for applying for federal grants.

Market Van Buren Director Zach Morris says part of economic development is bringing all partners together and building a shared consciousness to better serve communities. With so many government officials on hand at the summit, Market Van Buren could learn about common concerns.

Topics of discussion included housing studies, Brownfield financing, utility sharing, federal grants, and working with economic developers like Market Van Buren.
