Scammers are capitalizing on Monday’s solar eclipse.

The Better Business Bureau of Michigan is asking shoppers to be vigilant when buying eclipse glasses as there are fake ones on the market.

BBB Marketing Director Nakia Mills was asked what someone should do it they bought fake eclipse glasses.

“If it’s a scammer, they’re probably not going to give you your money back,” Mills said. “So you can, of course, dispute that. You can try a dispute if you ordered with a credit card. That’s why we recommend that. And the other thing — and it maybe won’t save you — but we do always ask people to report those types of scams because that’s how people know what companies they can trust and what companies they can’t.”

Mills says they haven’t received any reports of fake glasses at this time, but most people won’t know until they look up at the eclipse. Real glasses will be completely black and you should only see the sun when you look through them.
