Due to the inclement weather, the 2022 Ice Fest has been rescheduled to February 25-27. Our ice carvers are coming from all over the country. With current and predicted road conditions, carvers are unable to make the drive. In addition, St. Joseph City staff and the Public Works department have notified us that with the predicted snowfall, they may not be able to keep up with the snow removal as needed for the placement of sculptures and prepare our city streets in the best way for residents and all event attendees.

UPDATED EVENT INFORMATION:

St. Joseph Mich., is renowned as a four-season water wonderland with Lake Michigan and nearby rivers and inland lakes. But this time of year the city’s focus turns to frozen water during the 2022 Ice Fest presented by Silver Beach Pizza, February 25-27. Ice competitions, a SnowBiz Scavenger Hunt and Ice Interactives are just some of the reasons to bring family and friends to this frosty, fun-filled weekend.

Amy Zapal, executive director at St. Joseph Today, summed it up, “If you need a cure for the winter blues, this is it!” She added that local hotels turn it into a great mid-winter getaway for families with children.

The winter festivities start Friday, February 25 with the Professional Individual Carving Competition, presented by Caffe Tosi, along Pleasant St. from 5:00p-8:00p. Watch as carvers magically turn frozen blocks of ice into works of art. As the ice carving competition wraps up that evening, attendees will enjoy the glimmer and glow of the Fire & Ice Tower, presented by Tru by Hilton, at 7:30p on the corner of State and Pleasant Streets.

Visitors can also participate in the SnowBiz Scavenger Hunt, presented by Berrien Community Foundation, all weekend long. Stop in the St. Joseph Today Welcome Center, 301 State St., to pick up a map and start your search! Completing the hunt puts participants in the running for a $25 St. Joseph Today gift certificate good at participating St. Joseph Today member locations.

The fun continues Saturday, February 26 with Professional Team Carving Competition along State St. from 7:30a-4:00p. Watch as teams of two transform eight blocks of ice into frosty creations.

Attendees will also enjoy Ice Interactives on Saturday from 11:00a-4:00p. Featuring fan favorites the Frozen Fish Toss presented by The Livery, Ice Tic-Tac-Toe presented by SWMI Brew Tours, Ice Bowling presented by Honor Credit Union and the Magical Ice Thone presented by NOBO. Additional Saturday fun includes the Magic Tour with magician John Dudley.
