State Representative Abdullah Hammoud is leading a group of Michigan lawmakers who are endorsing 49ers defensive coach Robert Saleh to become the Detroit Lion’s next head coach. Hammoud says Saleh is a Dearborn native and is highly qualified for the position.

“I think if you listen to the coaches and players throughout the NFL. you’ll hear that they all speak to his heart, his work ethic, his tenacity, his ability to make plans to overcome adversity,” says Hammoud. “As a Lions fan I say this and not as a state representative. I would love to see Robert Saleh come home.”

Following a seventh season loss on Thanksgiving, the Lions fired head coach Matt Patricia along with general manager Bob Quinn last weekend.
